Description: The Action Researcher/Performer wore a white t-shirt with the words 'consume' printed on the front and a long white skirt that had hundreds of tags attached to it with safety pins. On the back of each tag was printed the word 'consume' and on the front, a range of different words related to the consumption of products, services and experiences, such as: food, ideas, resources, culture, life and the environment. The Action Researcher/Performer then walked around various shopping centres, individual retail outlets and cafeterias in Brisbane and Sydney wearing the skirt of tags, t-shirt and a white mask over her face. As she approached someone actively consuming in one of these retail spaces, she would select a tag, rip it off her skirt and hand it to them. On most occasions the Action Researcher/Performer was approached by security and told to leave the premises immediately with notification of considerable fines to be issued if she re-entered the space again.
