Description: An Action Researcher/Performer remained stationary looking through an open frame for up to two-hour periods in various public space locations in Sydney. These sites included- the pedestrian mall at Bondi Junction, a medium strip at Taylor Square on Oxford Street, a roundabout in Waverley and the coastal walking path at Marks park, Bondi beach. By remaining in a fixed position, observing through a limited field, the Action Researcher/Performer was able to better analyse individual sections of the transitory scene. This visual focus on a very limited frame of view was complemented by an extended period of time looking at, experiencing and thinking about this aspect of site. It also encouraged passers-by to look more closely at the scene around them, many intrigued by what alternative view the Action Researcher/Performer may have obtained through the framed perspective.
