Description: Members of the public were encouraged to sit within a suspended transparent plastic booth that had stencilled on its outside surface, topical issues about the 'state of affairs' in New York City (e.g. healthcare, education, gun control, stop and frisk, election 2012 etc).  An Action Researcher/Performer sitting on the outside of the booth opposite the member of the pubic, recorded the arguments expressed about a particular chosen topic by the individual sitting inside.  The pages on which this commentary was written were then inserted into transparent plastic sleeves, suspended at the back of the stand for passers-by to read.  Members of the public on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn and at Union Square in Manhattan resisted addressing the topical issues, instead feeling more comfortable discussing their experience of living in New York.
