Comfort City

Comfort City 1.1

                                                      Return to 2015

Description: The proliferation of homeless people sleeping rough on the streets of Paris is a significant feature of this city’s public space experience.  Individuals can be seen in doorways, on top of metro vents, at the entrance to famous buildings and monuments, around the Seine, under awnings and in metro tunnels.  The scale of this outdoor sleeping is a phenomenon of Paris.  The Action Researcher/Performer created a miniature scene replicating the image of a person sleeping in the city.  A model shopping trolley, fabric and a figurine were used to create this now common, almost iconic Parisian scene.
