Description: Reflecting on the typical window/balcony scenes in Xiamen, the Action Researcher/Performer made two scaled-down versions of these windows, which she wore, strapped to her body, around the streets of Xiamen.  The items in these miniature 'windows' were alternatively arranged to reflect the variety of different balcony scenes she had witnessed throughout the city.  The normal function of these small metal grates is to dry cutlery on a kitchen sink.  By re-appropriating this domestic-ware into urban-wear, the interior (private space) of the home becomes revealed in the exterior (public space) of the city, just like the clothes seen hanging out to dry throughout the streets of Xiamen.
